Kampala mayor elect Erias Lukwago is expected to be in London on 11th June 2011 in order to raise the much needed funds for Federalism. The conference which is being organized by pressure group called the Uganda Federal Confederates (UFC) will be held in London on the 11th June 2011 from 12pm-3am at the University of East London -Docklands Campus.
It is aimed at lobbying the international community to exert pressure on the Ugandan government to change the unitary system of governance to a federal political system where power should be devolved to kingdoms or regions. Hence the theme for the conference is: 'Embracing federalism is embracing diversity'. Apart from speeches, presentations, electing the interim Uganda Federal Confederates (UFC) officials and watching documentaries, guests will be entertained by musicians from Uganda and the UK.
In addition, Galaxy band from the UK will play all those classical tunes for the older generation. Furthermore, people from the different tribes of Uganda will showcase their traditional dresses or attires and cultural dances. Food and drinks will be provided free of charge, served from the state of the art hall with stunning views of the river Thames.
