Singer Jose Chameleone of the ‘Valu Valu’ fame may not be regarded as
a legend by those who always see him at numerous shows around Uganda
and those who bump into him in happening places in Kampala. But our UK
based Paps tell us that what unveiled during the Easter Weekend in the
UK towns of Leeds, Coventry and London was a true display of a living
legend.

The Ugandan singer who is there for the Easter tour has been rocking the Queen’s land like the real superstar he is. After six years, the much awaited Chameleone touched down at Heathrow Airport mid last week, in the company of his brother AK 47 and Papa Cidy. They all wheeled out in a sleek stretch limo similar to the one Jay-Z and Rick Ross use. We’re told he was welcomed by a large crowd of East Africans at a Meet and Greet party at Club La Face, which kick started the Easter tour. To heighten his pomp, Chameleone has been cruising around the Queen’s towns in a posh limo, which chauffeured him to venues for the shows, where mammoth audiences gave him a real Legendary welcome. It is said that the publicity the shows were given explained the mad rush for dos, which Ugandans flocked in hordes.

Our Paps who attended the shows reveal that “People of all walks of life
gathered at the most attended show in London at Manor Park as early as
6pm to watch their star.” They add that “Many Ugandan kids born in the
UK got the chance to see their Chameleone face to face, since most of
them have been listening to his songs on CDs taken there by relatives
from holidays in Uganda.” There was overexcitement, mayhem and frenzy
when Chameleon jumped onto the stage with his Leone Island members
including AK47 and Papa Cidy.

During all the shows everyone was on their feet, crazily waving their arms in the air and singing along Chameleone’s songs that were like an anthem of sorts to them. He took the crowd through a rollercoaster performance of all his hits since the 90s. It’s reported that by the time he left the stage, babes and kids were eagerly waiting for him.

We hear most babes wanted private talks while the kids yearned for his autograph and a photo opportunity with him. Some babes were pulling any part of him they could lay hands on and mobbed him all the way to the stretch limo and hilarious shouts of “I have touched him” could be heard from babes.

During the performance, he thanked his ever growing number of fans for their unwavering support, amidst ululations from the enormous crowd. We have learnt that due to public demand and since most people missed out on
the fully packed Easter London show, the organisers have decided to
organise two last shows this Thursday and Friday at Club Guvnor and
Club Zanzibar respectively, before he returns on Sunday.

We have since reliably established that although he’s ranked as the 6th famous African artiste, Chameleone is one of those few African musicians that command a strong fan base in Europe. His UK Easter tour has made him one of the most sought after Ugandan musicians, whom all UK based
Ugandan promoters are flexing to grace their shows, because of his magical lyrics that pull immense crow
