Singer Jose Chameleone is still benefiting from the long years of hard work in the music industry in the East African region. The self proclaimed East Africa music heavy weight landed a deal with the Olympic 2012 committee as a performer at the opening ceremony in London when the global athletics games kick off on 27 July at
Olympic Stadium, stratford London. The show is estimated to attract an audience of four billion people tuned in to watch opening of the Games.
Meanwhile as the talk of battle of champion between Bebe Cool and Bobi wine is about to settle down Chameleone has gone for the battle of champion of Africa in London . The singer has been booked by a top Nigerian promoter for a whooping £10,000 to feature in a glamorous show titled ‘Africa Unplugged’. He will be battling it
out with selected Africa 's topmost artistes in Wembley Stadium on the 27th of August after gracing the Olympic stage.
We have learnt that the Africa Unlpugged gig will have Nigeria ’s Djbanj, P-Square, Wiz Kid, Angola Caboo Snoop, Congo’s Fally Ipupa and of course Senegalese born US-based rapper Akon. Althought the show is not part of the Olympics the organizers hope that it will help to showcase and celebrate African culture.
