It’s that time of the year again when a bevy of intelligent beauties battle it out for the title of Miss Uganda UK. Miss Uganda UK is a spectacular platform that instantly raises the profile of talented Ugandan women and attracts tourism and investment into Uganda and the UK through the entertainment industry. It also encourages personal development and social enterprise by identifying and showcasing talented Ugandans and Africans at large living in the UK.

According to the organizers, the pageant focuses on encouraging young women to pave the way for financial freedom through Social Enterprise and working with various charities in the UK and Uganda. It is much more than just a beauty platform, because there is a lot of emphasis on contestants who demonstrate the ability, commitment to charitable causes and who portray a positive image of the modern Ugandan woman and the beauty of Uganda as a country.

The finalists for this year include Gladys Kyotungire, Anita Mbabazi, Sandrine Lucas, Sandra Kabasambu, Vivien Nassimbwa, Sarah Nakabugo, Alanah Wampamba, Henrietta Lule, Angela Mubanguka, Sandra Nakanwagi, Jacquiline Sempasa & Vivien Kakaire-Kent. The Miss Uganda UK 2012 pageant is taking place in London on September 29th and as far social events go, this one of those that’s not to be missed.
